Acute injuries happen suddenly, such as sprain-strain ankles.
Chronic injuries happen after you play a sport or exercise for a long time.
Overuse injuries are caused by repetitive trauma.
Strains are by far the most common of all sports-related injuries simply because we use so many muscles and tendons when we exercise or play. These moving parts are all susceptible to stretching farther than they should or moving in ways they shouldn’t move, leaving them torn, damaged, and in pain.
We can classify most sports into three main categories.
Sprains are injuries to a ligament caused by tearing of the fibers of the ligament. The ligament can have a partial tear, or it can be completely torn apart. Ankle sprains are the most common type of sprain. Wrist, knee, and thumb sprains are also common.
Shoulder injuries: cover a large number of sports injuries from dislocations, misalignment, strains on muscles, and sprains of ligaments. As well as avulsion fracture and torn ligaments. This can cause, pain, inflammation, limitation of movements, and weakness.
Elbow Injuries: due to repetitive action the tendon of the elbow can become inflamed and make any wrist or hand motions extremely painful.
Hip Injuries: Sports injuries to the hip muscle can be caused by sprinting, running inclines, and activities with quick turns, sudden starts and falls, and impacts.
Knee Injuries: can cause instability when walking, running, or turning corners, it can increase swelling in the knee and restrict motion during gait.
Leg injuries: pain in the lower leg bone, or the tibia, the most common injury is Shin splints which cause intermittent sharp or dull pain. Also, the hamstring muscle (located on the back of the thigh) is a common injury in the leg.
